Cosmetic Injections: Nurse > MD

Why is it better for a nurse to perform your cosmetic injections?

Seeing a qualified nurse for minimally invasive cosmetic procedures is a smart move.

Nurses in this field have undergone advanced training to perfect these skills and perform these treatments all day long.  They perfect and re-perfect and fine tune their skills over and over… and over again. Nurses who specialize in injections of Botox, Dermal Fillers, Kybella, and PRP spend extensive hours in training, and must prove their expertise on human models in order for their Medical Director to agree to oversee their practice. Refinement of these skills are what makes a practice trustworthy and keep our patients coming back to us.

Now a physician on the other hand; what percent of his or her practice is devoted to MINIMALLY invasive cosmetic procedures? If they are a surgeon, the largest percent of their practice is in the operating room.  A dentist? Root canals and drilling teeth would be at the top of their list. So what percent is devoted to Botox, Dermal Fillers and other minimally invasive cosmetic procedures if they make the majority of their profit in other areas?

Nurses in this field, whom devote 100% of their practice to these procedures?  No brainer. These are the skills that drive our business. These skills ARE our business.  After all, we can't fall back on root canals and breast implants.

However not all nurse injectors are created equally… meet Alissa.

Before becoming the Lead Injection Specialist at Infinity MedSpa + Wellness she cut her medical teeth in plastic surgery and neurosurgery. She is a nurse practitioner, certified trainer for Allergan (Botox) and a master injector.

She started out as a nurse for a high profile cosmetic surgeon- so not only does she have an in-depth understanding of what's going on beneath the skin but, if you're considering something more permanent, she can quietly refer you on (it also makes her a stellar option if you've undergone surgery and are looking for a final bit of finesse). Her trick? Helping patients to look like themselves, only better.

Alissa is known for her friendly nature. She LOVES a consultation and understanding the wants and needs of her clients. Her reputation is squeaky clean and her clinic is even more so. She's so sought-after that her clients often book appointments several months ahead to cope with demand.

Alissa is licensed to perform the internationally recognized Vampire Facelift and Vampire Facial. She was one of the first in the region to be certified and is well versed in Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy as a part of anti-aging medicine. She’s brilliant at Botox and fillers: 'it's about assessing the top, mid, and lower thirds of the face - are they harmonious? Addressing just one part is like putting a new sofa in an old sitting room. The smallest bit of sculpting can make a huge difference. It's like having your brows shaped - it's transformative. When the work is done correctly, safely and artistically, we can help people to see a better version of themselves,' she says.

Let's settle this argument where some claim plastic surgeons and MD's are better cosmetic injectors once and for all: Alissa spends roughly 250 days every year doing nothing but cosmetic injectables for 8 hours every. single. day. When she says she could do your Botox with her eyes closed, she absolutely means it.
